Now a state of the art building offering quality office and warehouse spaces, the Van Buren Building has been completely remodeled and updated since the current owner purchased the building in 2006 from Steven's Fabrics.
But its story begins long before that.
Just after the turn of the century, and during the construction boom of the early 1900s, the original part of the building was constructed using brick and timber framing and wide plank floors.
Over the last 100+ years, the building has been home to a variety of businesses and industries, including a printing company and a manufacturer of fabric window treatments.
Unique historical features remain intact as a focal point of the building's design. The old "ghost sign" on the upper facade of the face of the building was a surprise that was uncovered during the renovation.Great care was taken to preserve it while the surrounding stucco was removed and layers of paint sandblasted from the surrounding brick work.

The Van Buren Building is proud to be part of the revitalization of the NE Minneapolis neighborhood, a place that progressive and enterprising businesses call home.
Our neighborhood is known as the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
The Van Buren Building is a Local Business Partner of the North East Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA).
The owner's commitment to supporting the arts is reflected in the contemporary art and photography displayed throughout the building.
Original, museum quality works of art, sourced from some of the most important local, national and international emerging contemporary artists are installed throughout the common areas of the building.
The artwork adds a very dynamic and creative presence to the professional atmosphere of the building. Tenants and their clients enjoy watching the collection change on a rotating basis.
